Out of an abundance of caution, Charles Spencer Elementary was placed on a soft lockdown this afternoon due to a potential situation in the neighborhood around the school. System security personnel worked with local law enforcement to determine that there was no threat to the safety and security of the students or staff. The school resumed normal operations. #4theT

Tift Countyβs School Nutrition Program represented Georgia School Nutrition Association (GSNA) District 2 with participants in the GSNA State Culinary Competition. Before moving to the state level, these ladies competed locally for the chance to represent this district at the state competition.
Audrey Dixonβs Peach Crumble Biscuit competed in the Whole Grain Dessert category, Shakia Ranceβs Hot Honey Chicken Tender Taco competed in the Lunch Entree category and Tammy Wellsβ Black Bean & Corn Salad competed in the Lunch Side Dish category. Winners will be announced at the GSNA state conference in April.
