We are 2 days away from Friday Night Lights! The fun begins at 5:30pm with food trucks and fun and games for the kids. Let's line up and show our support at the Devil Walk at 6:10pm when our 2024 Blue Devils arrive at Brodie Field for the first time. During Pre-Game there will be an exhibition by the Vipers football program and One Voice will sing the National Anthem. This is more than just a football game, it's an event for the entire community! Following an assessment of our facilities and road conditions, all Tift County Schools will resume normal operations on Tuesday, August 6th. We look forward to seeing everyone back in our schools tomorrow. #4theT

π’ Important Announcement: School Closure on Monday, August 5th π’
After meeting with the Emergency Management Agency and other officials, and to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff, the decision has been made to close all Tift County Schools on Monday, August 5th. We will continue to monitor the weather, road conditions, and any impact on facilities to make decisions beyond Monday.
Tomorrow will be a remote work day for staff. Staff members will receive communication from your building principal or supervisor regarding their expectations.

π’ Weather Update: Monitoring Tropical Storm π’
We are working with our local Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service to monitor the tropical storm and its potential impacts on our area. Ensuring the safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority.
We anticipate making a decision regarding any changes to our school operations following their afternoon briefing. If it is determined that a change to the school calendar is necessary, we will notify everyone as soon as possible.

π§οΈβ¨ What a fantastic first day of school, even with some unexpected rain and power outages at a few of our schools! The way that our students and staff handled these situations was incredible!
A special shout out to our amazing school nutrition staff at the affected schools for their quick thinking and dedication, ensuring that our students were able to receive a hot lunch.

Thank you to everyone that came out today for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Len Lastinger Elementary. This celebration marked the completion of extensive renovations throughout the entire building. Members of the Board of Education, current and former staff, parents, students, representatives from Parrish Construction and members of the community were in attendance for the event. #4theT

Starting back to school is a community effort! We are thankful for partnerships with the city and county. They have made sure that our crosswalks and school zones are painted and ready as we welcome our students back tomorrow. #4theT
