Our commitment to student safety extends beyond the school walls. Our dedicated System Security Officers (SSOs) have received specialized training from City and County police to expertly direct traffic during high traffic arrival times. This ensures the safety of our students, staff, and families as they enter and exit our campuses. #SafetyFirst #4theT

Student and Staff safety is our top priority. That's why we conduct monthly safety drills in all our schools. Over the course of the year, our drills include fire drills, lockdown drills, severe weather drills, and evacuation drills. These drills ensure that students and staff are well-prepared to respond effectively in case of an emergency. #SafetyFirst #4theT

🏈 Beyond the T Moment 🏈
A special shout-out to Pernell Bee, Carrie Macdonald, Charly Pitts, Andrew Cauthen, Hunter McAllister, and Paul Nelson for making a dream come true for Sam Powell, a student at Eighth Street Middle School! At a recent football game, Sam put on a Blue Devil jersey, joined the team in the locker room before the game and at half time then following the last play of the game he ran a play with the the whole team cheering him on. Tonight he helped present certificates to each of those who helped make this possible and even showed everyone in attendance some of his football skills! This incredible group effort captures the true spirit of going #BeyondTheT.

Way to go, Sam! #4theT

Important Safety Update:
Following the events of last week, there have been several threats circulating on social media regarding schools. Please be assured that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA), and local law enforcement have been closely monitoring these threats and have determined, at this time, that none of them are credible.
Someone copied a list from the Georgia Department of Education website, which includes all Title I schools in the state, and added the words “school shooting.” This list is being circulated on social media. Tift County Schools were included in this list, along with hundreds of others. The GBI has urged everyone who sees threats of this nature on social media NOT TO SHARE OR REPOST THEM. Instead, please report these to local law enforcement or school officials.
Out of an abundance of caution, the staff at all of our schools are maintaining a heightened level of alert including increased visibility of our System Security Officers at all schools. The safety and security of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We appreciate your cooperation and vigilance as we work together to keep our schools safe. #4theT
