TIFTON, Ga. — Tift County Schools continues to invest in athletic facilities that support student-athletes and enhance the experience for players, coaches, and visitors. A series of upgrades and repairs completed prior to the start of the 2025-2026 baseball season helped improve functionality, safety, and the overall experience across the Tift County High School baseball complex.
One of the most significant upgrades was the installation of a new digital/video scoreboard. The scoreboard was utilized throughout the season and provided an enhanced game-day experience with expanded capabilities for displaying game information, graphics, player recognition, and other features.
The baseball complex also saw the construction of a new covered bullpen through a partnership between Tift County Schools and the Tift County Baseball Booster Club. The addition provided student-athletes with improved space for preparation and warmups while enhancing the overall functionality and usability of the facility.
In addition to these projects, various infrastructure repairs were finished, including work on the public restrooms for men and women and the facilities inside the baseball locker room. To guarantee dependable service for events and games, the water line to the concession stand was also repaired.
Further enhancements to the complex included fixing the lighting at the concession stand and hitting facility, which helped improve usability and visibility for spectators, staff, and athletes alike.
As part of the district's ongoing athletic facilities improvement efforts, new LED sports lighting has been installed at the baseball complex following the conclusion of the 2026 baseball season, replacing the old lighting that was original to the high school construction. The project is currently in its final stages, with programming and commissioning of the system remaining before the upgrade is fully operational. Once complete, the new LED lighting system will provide improved visibility, increased energy efficiency, and enhanced flexibility for practices, games, and special events at the facility.
"The improvements completed at our baseball complex have made a significant impact on both the functionality of the facility and the overall game-day experience," said Athletic Director Chris Martin. "From infrastructure repairs to the new video scoreboard and covered bullpen, these upgrades have provided immediate benefits for our student-athletes and fans. The LED lighting installation is another exciting enhancement that will further improve the facility as we prepare for future seasons."
The baseball facility improvements are part of Tift County Schools' continued efforts to maintain high-quality learning and extracurricular environments that support student success both on and off the field.
