Gym Upgrades

TIFTON, GA — Tift County Schools is proud to announce the completion of several significant upgrades to the Tift County High School gymnasium, affectionately known throughout the community as "The Palace."

Originally occupied in 1998, the gymnasium has served generations of Blue Devil student-athletes, students, staff, and community members. This year, the facility received several enhancements designed to improve the experience for all who use it.

Among the completed projects are the refinishing of the gym floor, installation of a new digital scoreboard, and replacement of the basketball goals. Both the scoreboard and basketball goals had been in place since the building first opened nearly three decades ago.

These improvements represent an investment in the future of Tift County students and the programs that call the gymnasium home. In addition to hosting basketball games and athletic events, the facility serves hundreds of students each year through physical education classes, school activities, and community events.

"The Palace has been an important part of Tift County High School for nearly 30 years," said Superintendent Natalie Gore. "These upgrades not only enhance the appearance and functionality of the facility, but they also demonstrate our commitment to providing students with high-quality learning and athletic environments. Our student-athletes, coaches, physical education students, and staff deserve facilities that reflect the pride we have in Tift County Schools."

The newly refinished court provides a fresh look while helping preserve the longevity of the playing surface. The new digital scoreboard offers enhanced visibility and functionality for athletic competitions, and the updated basketball goals provide modern equipment that will serve student-athletes for years to come.

For many students, coaches, and alumni, "The Palace" is more than just a gymnasium—it is a place where memories are made, championships are pursued, and school pride comes to life. These improvements ensure that the facility will continue to serve as a centerpiece of Tift County High School for future generations.

As Tift County Schools continues to invest in its facilities, these upgrades reflect the district's commitment to providing safe, modern, and engaging spaces where students can learn, compete, and succeed.
