Northside Elementary School was inadvertently placed on lockdown this morning. System security personnel performed an investigation and found no threat to the safety and security of the students or staff and the school resumed normal operations. #4theT

Our staff members continue to Relentlessly Pursue a Culture of Excellence. As part of their teacher work day this week, staff members in Grades 6 - 12 participated in the inaugural "Boosting Blue Chip Talent" conference. Teachers came together to review and align curriculum across grade levels and participated in workshops covering a variety of topics to improve the instruction of their standards. #4theT

October 3rd - 7th is PreK Week in Georgia! This morning all of our PreK classes watched a video of Mr. Hathaway reading Malcolm Mitchell's book Hey, Georgia. Students were told that they would each receive a copy of this book from the Georgia PreK Program. #4theT


We are trying to help locate the owner of a ladies class ring from the TCHS Class of 1987. It was found in Panama City, FL. Please call (229) 387-2400 if you have information.


We are aware that schools south of us have made a decision to close tomorrow and Friday. We have received no information at this time leading us to make that decision for Tift County Schools. We will continue to monitor the storm and work with our local EMA to make decisions. At this time we will be having school on Thursday and Friday. #4theT


The latest updates on Hurricane Ian show it continues to move northeastward and has slowed down which should lessen the impact that is felt here in Tifton; however, we are still possibly in the path for strong winds.
