Ms. Newell's US History students are diving into the American Revolution and the presidencies of George Washington and John Adams! 🇺🇸 During his time in office, Washington warned about the dangers of political parties. To bring history to life, she had her students step back to the late 1700s and create campaign posters for either the Democratic-Republicans or the Federalists parties. 🎨🗳️

They presented their posters and explained the symbolism and political messages behind their designs. It was amazing to see their creativity and understanding of this pivotal moment in our nation’s history! #4theT

📢 Congratulations to the members of the 2025–2026 Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC).

The purpose of the SSAC is to provide students with opportunities to serve as representatives of their schools and as a collective voice for the Tift County Schools student body.

Through their participation, students will:
• Share ideas and perspectives
• Provide input on various aspects of the student academic experience
• Gain a deeper understanding of how our school system operates

Medical Innovation Presentations 🚑💡
Our students stepped into the role of future healthcare innovators, designing inventions to improve the healthcare system. Each team researched the disease processes their invention would address, along with development costs, consumer costs, and the potential impact on both healthcare and quality of life.

Many groups went above and beyond—creating blueprints and even prototypes to bring their ideas to life! 🙌 We are so proud of their creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. These students rose to the challenge and inspired us with their innovative vision for the future of medicine. 🌟

🎲🧬 Students in Mrs. Perrin’s, Mrs. Richards’s, and Dr. Waddell’s Biology classes brought genetic drift to life with a hands-on simulation! By rolling a single die to determine the next generation of alleles, they saw firsthand how random chance can shape allelic frequencies in populations. Such a fun and powerful way to connect theory to real-world biology! 🌍✨ #4theT

🌱🔬 Anna Perrin’s AP Environmental Science students are diving into the dynamics of competition in nature! They set up a lab using radish and wheat seeds to investigate Intraspecific Competition (within the same species) and Interspecific Competition (between different species). 🌾 Students also examined the factors that drive competition and how organisms adapt through resource partitioning to share limited resources. 💡🌍#4theT

Our Floral Design students are learning how to take their creativity to the next level! 💐 This week’s lessons focused on:

Our Horticulture students are getting hands-on with asexual plant propagation! This week, they explored how plants can grow new life using:

🍃 Stem & leaf cuttings

🌿 Modified stems & leaves

🌱 Separation techniques

Using plants like Wandering Jew, Swedish Ivy, Spider Plants, and Kalanchoe, students practiced multiplying plants while learning how stems and leaves play an important role in reproduction. 🌸
