🌿 Thank you, Tift County FFA alum Garrett Carlson! 🌿
We were excited to have Garrett visit our horticulture classes to share about his career as a crop scout and the importance of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in the agriculture industry.
Garrett talked about how his Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) in crop scouting helped him build skills and connections that benefited him in FFA and led to his current career. He continues to work as a crop scout while attending ABAC, where he is majoring in agriculture studies and plans to further his education in agronomy in graduate school.
He also demonstrated pest monitoring techniques, such as net sweeping, that were similar to the activities students have been practicing in class—giving them a firsthand look at how these skills are applied in the field. 🦋🌾
Our horticulture students have been learning about pests and IPM strategies, and this real-world perspective brought our lessons to life! 👏
💙💛 Thank you, Garrett, for taking the time to give back and inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders!

Today, Justin, a CTAE student in the Information Technology Career Cluster at Tift County High School, visited Northside Elementary to help set up their 3D printers.
This collaboration between TCHS, CTAE, and Northside Elementary is part of an ongoing effort to expand technology immersion and promote equitable access to hands-on learning in the primary grades. Through partnerships like this, younger students are gaining opportunities to explore technology early, while high school students like Justin are developing leadership and technical skills that make a lasting impact.
We’re proud of Justin for representing TCHS and CTAE so well and for helping pave the way for the next generation of Blue Devils in technology and innovation! #4theT #CTAEDelivers #BlueDevilPride #raisethebar

Congratulations to this week’s outstanding student, Perrin Turner, for continued hard work in class and your exuberance for helping others! Perrin was nominated by Mrs. Hope Vance who shared:
"She goes out of her way to always make sure everyone feels included. Just recently, when a classmate didn’t have a group, she welcomed them right in and helped them feel like part of the team. 🙌 Also, she saw another student feel apprehensive about an answer they gave and she didn’t hesitate to jump in and add to the conversation, alleviating the pressure. She always shows this kind of compassion because that’s just who she is." Great job, Perrin! 👏💙
A special thank you to Sumner Beaumont York & Kincaid Insurance Agency for sponsoring our Student of the Week recognition! #4theT
