Our Floral Design students have been learning all about wedding work — from conducting bridal consultations to planning and preparing floral proposals. This week, they created a full wedding proposal and site setup for Coach and Mrs. Dawson!
In collaboration with Cosmetology, Mrs. Dawson was pampered with a manicure and hairstyle to prepare for the big proposal moment. 💅💇♀️
The day after the proposal, Floral Design students conducted a bridal consultation to finalize plans and design ideas for the upcoming wedding. 💒
A huge thank you to Coach and Mrs. Dawson for being our “couple” for this special unit! Be on the lookout for a wedding next month as students continue putting their creative skills into action! 🌿✨

Congratulations to Pratyush Biswal, our Tift County High School Positive Behavior Impact Student of the Month for October! 🎉
Sponsored by Sumner, Beaumont, York, and Kincaid Agency, LLC, this award celebrates students who consistently model the goals of PBIS through their actions. [Student’s Name] is a shining example of readiness, responsibility, and respect. 💙
When the PBIS team needed a way to organize food truck orders, he stepped up and created a fully functioning website to handle the process. His system allowed staff and students to place orders, tracked the database, and ensured accuracy—making everything smoother and more efficient. By applying his technical skills and considering the needs of others, he demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and respect for our school community.
Through his leadership and innovation, Praytush has raised the bar for what it means to be a Blue Devil. 🙌 His positive impact is seen not only in the classroom but also in the way he supports the success of everyone at TCHS.
We are proud to recognize Pratyush for living out the PBIS expectations every day! 💙

Congratulations to Justin Saylor, our Tift County High School Positive Behavior Impact Student of the Month for September! 🎉
Sponsored by Sumner, Beaumont, York, Kincaid Agency, LLC, this award celebrates students who consistently model the goals of PBIS through their actions. Justin is a shining example of service, responsibility, and dedication—whether in the classroom, at athletic events, or in support of other school programs. 💙
Justin regularly volunteers as Talos’ handler at games, often right after finishing cross country practice. He serves simply to represent TCHS with pride, without seeking personal benefit. In the classroom, he continues to grow his skills while helping his peers, and he is even using 3D printing to create artifacts for the Wildlife Management class—blending technical knowledge with community support.
Through his willingness to help, his commitment to learning, and his dedication to supporting others, Justin truly exemplifies what it means to Raise the Bar at Tift County High School. His positive influence inspires both classmates and teachers. 🙌
We are proud to recognize Justin for his outstanding contributions and for showing what it means to be a Blue Devil! 💙

Congratulations to this week’s outstanding student, Isaac Reyes, for continued positivity in class and your eagerness to help others! Isaac was nominated by Ms. Ann Marie Day, who shared, "Isaac is such a well-mannered and hardworking young man. He comes into class each day with a positive attitude and greets me and others. Though he loves to chat and congregate, it doesn't keep him from meeting the challenge of his work. He has done very well with his coding assignments, so much so that I have relied on him for peer assistance when I am helping other students. He is always willing to go to the student in need of help or who is stuck on a problem and help them find the resolution." Way to go, Isaac! 👏💙
A special thank you to Sumner Beaumont York & Kincaid Insurance Agency for sponsoring our Student of the Week recognition!

We want to address the impact of social media threats and sharing or reposting such messages on social media platforms. When such things are reposted by families, community members, and students, they become part of the problem instead of being part of the solution. Instead of reposting or asking social media platforms for “advice” regarding what you are hearing, contact the school or law enforcement directly to ensure awareness and get input from the individuals who have been investigating and managing the situations.
Reporting a threat to law enforcement and sharing information on where you saw the threat allows law enforcement to investigate the source of the post. Reposting or sharing rumors of a threat to warn others spreads it farther from its original source. This makes law enforcement's job more difficult to track the source origin and it takes longer to investigate when minutes can matter.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We invite you to partner with us as we work to educate and support our students by being a part of the solution. Communicate directly with the school system and law enforcement when you learn of something circulating.
We are grateful for the support and partnership of our local law enforcement agencies both the City of Tifton Police Department and the Sheriff’s Department, as they help us investigate and respond to community occurrences that impact our children and our schools. Today, as was the case yesterday, Tifton Police will have a more pronounced presence at our high school as they support us with additional staff to help us maintain a calm, secure atmosphere focused on learning.
