Congratulations to Mrs. Coley! 😍
Ten Tift County public school teachers were tapped last week as recipients of the 2024 Excellence in Teaching Award by the Tift County Foundation for Educational Excellence.
Foundation representatives, school officials, and recipients' family members surprised the teachers with the honor at their schools. Students in the classrooms joined in to congratulate their teachers. The teachers honored are: Caitlin McFarland – Annie Belle Clark Elementary, Kaitlin Tucker – Annie Belle Clark Elementary, Randy Meadows – Annie Belle Clark Elementary, Amy McClendon – Matt Wilson Elementary, Savannah Harvin – G.O. Bailey Elementary, Robert Bullington – Len Lastinger Elementary, Leanne Westberry – Eighth Street Middle School, Trisha Bridges – Northeast Middle School, MeLisa King – Northeast Middle School, and Johanna Coley – J.T. Reddick Elementary School. The teachers are nominated by a student, parent, peer, or administrator. In early 2025, the Rotary Club of Tifton will honor the recipients with an awards banquet, and the Foundation for Educational Excellence will present the teachers with an honorarium. The Foundation has been recognizing teachers of excellence in Tift County public schools for more than three decades. #wearejtr #4theT

Students from Ms. Parker and Mrs. Lever’s class built balloons from aluminum foil, and paraded throughout the school Friday afternoon! Both classes read “Balloons Over Broadway,” which tells the story of how the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade originated. Students then decorated their very own balloons by drawing on their pieces of aluminum foil. They were laminated/sealed, then blown up the next day for our parade around JTR! 🦃🧡 #wearejtr #4theT

Mrs. Carter's third-grade class wrote an opinion paper about why the farmer should not have turkey for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, the farmer did not agree with them, so the students had to disguise their turkeys. Gobble, gobble! 🦃😄 #wearejtr #4theT

Santa's Workshop Collection currently going on! Do you have items that could be donated? The items collected will allow students at JTR to "shop" for a loved one this year. All items are free to students as they learn the gift of giving! The workshop will be Dec. 18-19th.
