Tift County Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Nikki Pridgen as the new principal of Omega Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year.

A graduate of Tift County High School, Pridgen brings 29 years of experience in education and a deep connection to the Tift County community. Her career has been dedicated to supporting students, teachers, and families across the district.

Pridgen currently serves as the assistant principal at Omega Elementary, where she is in her second year in that role. Prior to returning to Omega, she served as an assistant principal at Charles Spencer Elementary for four years. Throughout her career, she has also served as a Literacy Coordinator, Academic Coach, and classroom teacher at several Tift County Schools including Northside Elementary, Annie Belle Clark Elementary, G.O. Bailey Elementary, and Omega Elementary.

Her journey in education began in the very place she will now lead—Omega Elementary School, where she started her career as an elementary classroom teacher.

“Mrs. Pridgen’s experience, leadership, and dedication to students make her an excellent choice to lead Omega Elementary,” said Superintendent Natalie Gore. “Her understanding of literacy instruction, strong relationships with staff and families, and lifelong commitment to Tift County Schools will continue to strengthen the learning environment for Omega students.”

Pridgen said she is honored to return to Omega Elementary in this new role.

“It is incredibly meaningful to serve as the leader of the school where my career began,” Pridgen said. “Omega Elementary holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to working alongside our teachers, staff, students, and families to continue building a strong and supportive school community.”

Pridgen’s commitment to Tift County Schools is both professional and personal. She and her husband, Shane Pridgen, have four children: Drew, Kaylea, and Will Pridgen, who are all graduates of Tift County High School, and Avery Weaver, who is currently a junior at TCHS.

Tift County Schools looks forward to the leadership and experience Mrs. Pridgen will bring to Omega Elementary as the school continues its mission to support student success.
