LEN LASTINGER PRIMARY FIRST GRADERS TEST THE WATERS
Thursday, May 16, 2013
Students in teacher Emily Fincher's first grade class at Len Lastinger Primary School conducted a science experiment recently with carnations and food coloring to see how plants “drink” water. Normally plants absorb through their roots, but plants that are cut still “drink” water and send it to their leaves and petals. Pictured, from left, are Fincher's students Laura, Noemi, Azzari and Viridiana.
LEN LASTINGER STUDENTS HAVE CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH LIGHTNING
Monday, May 13, 2013
Len Lastinger Primary School's second graders have been learning about energy and extreme weather in their own Lightning Lab. Students in teacher Tracy Ingram’s class first watched a video on how lightning is formed and viewed exciting demonstrations of real lightning in action on April 16. Students then went into the Lightning Lab and watched sparks of blue and green shoot from their friends' mouths as they crunched on LifeSavers wint-o-green candy.
