Message from the Principal

Glenda Huggins, Principal of Omega Elementary SchoolWelcome to another great year at Omega Elementary School!  This is my fifth year here as principal, and I am returning after beginning my teaching career here thirty-one years ago.

Parents, as you are well aware, you play an important role in your child’s educational development.  Traditionally, Omega School students have benefited from exceptionally strong parent support.  During the coming year, I strongly encourage you to stay closely involved in your child’s activities and studies, both at school and at home.  Our number one goal at Omega School is to teach our students to read above grade level and to maintain grade level in math. To help accomplish our goals, we have a staff here at Omega School that is beyond compare, from the administration to the custodial staff. Our staff has continued to up the ante for the students here at Omega. Just look at your child's test scores. Our school did exceptionally well and I am so proud of our boys and girls. Please continue to work with your children and to encourage them to read every night. By working as a team, we can continue the success Omega School is enjoying presently.

This year we will continue to work hard to increase student test scores in math and other academic areas.  Parents, you can help by: having high academic expectations for your child; checking your child’s homework each night; and by staying in touch with your child’s teacher.  We look forward to working with your family this school year.  Together we can make 2009-2010 the best school year yet.

Sincerely,

Glenda C. Huggins
