Northside Teacher of the Year 2007-2008

Cathy Strickland was selected as the Teacher of the Year by her peers for the 2007-08 school year.  Cathy has been teaching for 15 years.  She also has taught Second Grade Sunday School at Northside Baptist Church for the past 11 years.  She feels that teaching is definitely her calling, and she loves it!

Her favorite Bible verse that she lives by is:  This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad.  (Psalm 188:24).

Teaching in Excellence Award

Freda Richardson was selected for a Teaching in Excellence Award that is given each year by the Tift County Foundation for Educational Excellence.  Freda has been teaching for 22 years and feels that teaching is a ministry.  She wants her students to believe in themselves and dream big.  Her hobbies include playing the piano and singing in the First Baptist Church choir.  She is married to Bill Richardson and has two sons, Drew and Lyle. 

Favorite Bible Verse:  The Lord is my refuge and my strength, my present help in times of trouble. (Psalm 46:1)
