Detention Hall

Detention hall will be held on designated days after school from 3:15 until 4:00 P.M. Parents are responsible for transportation home after detention hall.  Parents will be notified by phone if possible of a detention hall assignment.  If a student misses a detention hall assignment the student will be re-assigned.  Failure to attend the re-assigned detention hall may result in ISS. Teachers will also use lunch detention as a form of disciplinary action.  This will take place during the student’s lunch period.

In-School Suspension

Eighth Street Middle School will utilize an ISS facility.  While there, you will be required to complete the work assigned by your teachers.  Students may receive a maximum of 3 ISS assignments during the school year.  Additionally, future discipline referrals will result in home suspension or possible expulsion. A parent conference is required before a child can enter the regular classroom after the third ISS assignment.
