P.E. at Matt Wilson includes: Warm up laps – At the beginning of class students will walk or run for 5-10 minutes. We then enter the gym and perform a series of stretches, then perform sit ups and push ups. (Exercise levels increase with grade level.)
The coaches then explain the activity for the day, go over rules, etc. Students are divided into their teams for class.
Dress: Students should wear tennis shoes and dress appropriately. NO high heels, flip flops, cowboy boots. Dresses can be worn but make sure to wear shorts underneath.
Grades: Students grades are decided upon participation and behavior. Both are Mandatory.
Excuses must be in the form of a Doctor’s Note. We honor notes from parents but it must be for brief periods of time. For example: An excuse missing more than a week would need to be a formal doctor’s note.
Forms of discipline at PE include: Verbal Warnings, Timeout, Parent Contact, and Corporal Punishment.
Classes range in size from 2-3 classes at a time.
PE classes meet in the gym or back field.
