Meal Prices & Charge Policies

Tift Schools Nutrition ProgramBreakfast

    • Adult and Non Students - $1.40

Lunch

    • Students:
      • PreK - Grade 6 Full Price- $.60
      • Grades 7 & 8 Full Price- $.75
      • Grades 9 - 12 Full Price - $1.00
      • Grades PreK - 8 Reduced Price - $.20
      • Grades 9 - 12 Reduced Price - $.30
    • Adults & Non Students at PreK - 9th Grade Schools - $2.30
    • Adults & Non Students at TCHS - $2.90
    • Tea - $ .30
    • Extra Milk - $ .40
    • Extra Lunch Entree with Purchased Lunch (where available) - $ 1.00

Charge Polcies

Grades Pre-K through 3

  • Payment is required when meals are served.

  • Students may charge breakfast and lunch for total debit of $5.50. 

  • A note will be sent home as needed, reminding parents to send money. Phone contact will be attempted. Once the maximum allowable charge is reached, a list will be provided to the front office. Students on the list will be asked to immediately contact their parents for payment.  Parent liaison or social worker involvement may be required.

  • It is the parents’ responsibility to check on account balances.

  • An alternate meal may be provided after the maximum debt is reached.

  • No student in debt will be allowed to buy extra items.

  • As a last resort, uncollected debt may be turned over to small claims court.

Grades 4 through 8

  • Payment is required when meals are served

  • Students may charge breakfast and lunch for total debit of $5.50. 
    Near the end of school, no charging will be allowed and all debts must be paid.

  • A note will be sent home as needed reminding parents to send money. Phone contact will be attempted. Once the maximum allowable charge is reached, the student will be asked to call home from the front office.  The student will be allowed to return to the cafeteria immediately to eat.

  • It is the parents’ responsibility to check on account balances.

  • An alternate meal may be provided after the maximum debt is reached.

  • No student in debt will be allowed to buy extra ala carte items.

  • As a last resort, uncollected debt may be turned over to small claims court.

Grades 9 through 12

  • Payment is required when meals are served.

  • Students may charge breakfast and lunch for total debit of $5.00. 
    No charging will be allowed near the end of school.  All debts must be paid.

  • A note will be sent home as needed reminding parents to send money. Phone contact will be attempted. NO charging will be allowed past that limit.    

  • No student in debt will be allowed to buy extra ala carte items.

  • It is the parents’ responsibility to check on account balances.

  • An alternate meal may be provided after the maximum debt is reached.

  • As a last resort, uncollected debt may be turned over to small claims court.
