Resource Coordinators

Support services are a vital component to the success of the Pre-K Program. It is the responsibility of the RC to provide children and their families with voluntary access to any services that will enable the child to be ready for school.

Overall objectives of the RC include but are not limited to the following:

    • Health – Identifying any obstacle that might interfere with the child’s ability to learn and assisting in the proper referral.
    • Child Development – Increasing family knowledge of developmental milestones through informational seminars, conferences, newsletters, and volunteer opportunities. Literacy activities for children and their families are also provided.
    • Community Resources – Providing support and referral to a variety of community resources to meet the specific need of the child and or family.
    • Kindergarten Readiness Initiative – Assisting parents in obtaining all necessary documentation for Kindergarten registration during the Preschool year.
    • Transition to Kindergarten – Providing activities, school visits and summer packets are provided to help form a bridge for learning between Pre-K and Kindergarten.
