Physical Education Philosophy
Physical Education is an integral part of the total education program. The curricular content is based upon the National Standards for Physical Education and the Georgia QCCs. Physical Education at G. O. Bailey Elementary is a planned, sequential K-3 program that is correlated with Georgia’s QCC’s that provides cognitive content and learning experiences in a variety of activity areas such as basic movement skills; physical fitness; rhythms and dance; games; team, dual and individual sports; tumbling and gymnastics. Quality physical education should promote, through a variety of planned physical activities, each student's optimum physical, mental, emotional, and social development, and should promote activities and sports that all students enjoy and can pursue throughout their lives.
Goal
My goal for Physical Education is to have a fun and safe environment for student to be active. I think that having fun in P.E. is very important to keep children interested in sports and fitness. P.E. is also a time for students to learn valuable skills that they will keep with them for the rest of their life.
