The G. O. Bailey Primary School Council was established in October of 2001. The purpose of the school council is to bring parents and the community together with teachers and school administrators to create a better understanding of and mutual respect for each other’s concerns and share ideas for school improvement. Council members are elected for two year terms. Each year half the members rotate off and new members are added. The members of the school council include two parent members, two parent business members, two teachers, and the school principal.

The school council meets four times annually. All meetings of the council are open to the public with meetings advertised in the Tifton Gazette and/or published on the school master calendar. The minutes of each meeting are available for public inspection upon request.
